Till fysikpristagarna Anne L’Huillier, Ferenc Krausz och Pierre Agostini målade jag på uppdrag av Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien dessa Nobelprisdiplom. De kalligrafiska verken är utförda av Marie A. Györi.
Fysikpriset delades detta år ut “för experimentella metoder som genererar attosekundpulser av ljus för studier av elektrondynamik i materia”, och jag tog fasta på de korta glimtarna av ljus i mina akvareller till pristagarna.
Motiven är hämtade från mina två hemtrakter: kusten i norra Västerbotten där jag växte upp och sjön Erken, nära den by utanför Norrtälje där jag lever sedan några år tillbaka.
Uppdraget att måla konstverk till Nobelprisdiplomen är treårigt. I fjol målade jag kemipristagarnas diplom och nästa år målar jag diplomen till Ekonomipriset.
Nobel Prize Diplomas with glimpses of light
On behalf of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, I have painted the artwork for the Nobel Prize Laureates in Physics 2023: Anne L’Huillier, Ferenc Krausz and Pierre Agostini. They recieved their Nobel Prize “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter” and I wanted to reflect that in my choice of motifs for the diplomas.
The assignment to make art for the Nobel Prize Diplomas spans over three years. In 2022, I made the diplomas for the laureates in Chemistry and next year I will paint the artwork for the Economy Prize diploma.
