Jag hade i uppdrag att göra diplomkonstverk till tre Nobelpristagare – men jag gjorde fyra målningar.
Utifall att.
Utifall en idé skulle visa sig inte hålla måttet. Utifall jag skulle göra något misstag med penseln. Utifall jag skulle spilla kaffe över en av målningarna dagen innan inlämning. Om inte annat för att ha valmöjligheter, utifall att alla fyra skulle lyckas mig.
Det här är den fjärde målningen.
Jag hade svårt att välja i slutänden. Trots att tiden att åstadkomma diplomkonstverken är knapp, hade jag god marginal sista veckan. Arbetet flöt på fint. Så jag hann färdigställa alla fyra och grunna i ett par dagar på vilka tre jag skulle välja ut.
Till slut bestämde jag mig för de tre som var mest olika varandra. Så blev alltså den här över.
Idag åkte jag och lämnade in den på ramverkstaden i Norrtälje, för den ska snart ta plats på väggen hos en ny ägare. Det känns fint att den blev såld. Att den blev utvald, den också.
The Fourth Nobel Painting
The task was to make three paintings for the diplomas to the three Nobel laureates in physics 2023. But I made four of them.
Just in case.
In case I’d fail. In case I’d make a mistake. In case I’d spill coffee over one of them the day before they were due. If for no other reason: just to have options, in case they’d all turn out well.
This is the fourth painting.
I ended up having a hard time choosing. Even though the time frame to make the diploma paintings is small (the laureates are announced in October and the paintings need to go to the book binder just a few weeks later in order for the diplomas to be ready on Nobel Day, December 10th), I had good margins this year. The work went well from start. So I could finish all four and still have a couple of days left to think hard about which ones to choose.
Eventually I went for the three paintings that were most different from eachother. And so, this one got left out.
Now it’s at the framers, waiting to be delivered to it’s new owner. I’m happy it got sold. That it was also picked, in the end.
